Chiropractic

Chiropractic was founded in 1895 and is a primary health care profession, concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health.

Chiropractors study a 5 year university degree and use the latest evidence to guide their clinical decision making in the treatment of spine-related conditions.

Chiropractic uses a combination of manual and low-force, instrument assisted techniques, depending on your individual needs.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment provided by trained healthcare practitioners. It involves inserting fine filament needles into or near myofascial trigger points, causing them to contract or twitch. This may help to relieve pain and improve range of motion.

Cupping

Myofascial cupping is an alternative therapy that involves suctioning the skin with glass, plastic, or silicone cups. It may help improve blood flow, boost immune function, remove toxins, reduce pain, release muscular tension and facilitate healing.

Cold Laser

Cold Laser or photobiomodulation therapy is a laser or LED light therapy that improves the speed and quality of tissue repair, reduces inflammation and has analgesic actions over areas to which it is directly applied.

Kinesiology Taping

Taping is an effective therapy to support your recovery from injuries, or as an injury prevention tool.

Kinesiology tape specifically is a type of elastic tape that is applied to the skin to help improve blood and lymphatic flow, reduce inflammation and swelling, and support muscles. K-tape works by gently lifting the skin and creating a microscopinc layer between the skin and tissues. This allows the body to recruit blood vessels, drain waste products, and carry white blood cells. K-tape does not restrict range of motion.

IASTM

(Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation)

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation is an effective technique utilising a range of specifically designed stainless steel tools. It is a form of manual therapy where instruments gently scrape the skin aiming to identify and treat chronic inflammation and areas of soft tissue restriction, such as scar tissue, fascial fibrosis or muscular adhesions. By applying a specific amount of pressure to the area with the instrument, this has been shown to reduce tension and increase mobility to help alleviate pain.
